The non-league side made it difficult for the Gunners, who struggled to break down the Lincoln defence in the first half despite 76 percent possession.
The opening goal came from Theo Walcott just before halftime as a quick one-two with Kieran Gibbs in the box opened up space for the Englishman to slot the ball home, courtesy of a slight deflection from a Lincoln City defender.
But Lincoln City looked competitive throughout the first half, as ex-Arsenal youth player Nathan Arnold made a darting run just before the half-hour mark in search of an opener, but Cech was up to the task as he parried the shot away.
Walcott’s opener just before halftime crushed the spirits of the non-league side and the Gunners came out of the dressing room looking to extinguish whatever fight Lincoln had left in them.
And it only took eight minutes for the Gunners to secure their second goal of the game thanks to Olivier Giroud, who has now scored four goals in his last four FA Cup starts.
A deft pass from Alexis Sanchez released Hector Bellerin down the by-line who cut the ball back across goal to find an unmarked Giroud, who found the back of the net, but not without another deflection from Bradley Wood.
City’s poor run of luck continued just five minutes later as captain Luke Waterfall put the ball into the back of his own net after a short cross from Kieran Gibbs got muddled between the captain’s legs.
Wenger gave both Francis Coquelin and Lucas Perez a chance to shine after bringing them on for Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud respectively.
Arsenal’s fourth goal came through a solo run from Alexis Sanchez who skipped over the outstretched leg of Waterfall to curl the ball into the back of the net from just outside the box.
Farman was left with no chance as the Chilean celebrated his 21st goal of the season.
The onslaught didn’t stop as Lincoln City looked exhausted and were left staggering on their feet as Aaron Ramsey walked the ball into the back of the net.
A poor clearance from Alex Woodyard landed at the feet of Sanchez who lobbed the ball across the goal to find Ramsey who dribbled past the keeper to all but secure the win with 15 minutes remaining.
Lincoln could barely keep up with the Gunners late on as they looked to prevent the game from turning into an embarrassment.
As the final whistle blew, both sets of fans left the ground happy. Lincoln finishing a magical Cup run at one of the biggest stadiums in England while Gunners supporters have plenty to cheer for as they look to win yet another FA Cup trophy.
It’s the third time in four years that Arsenal will head to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final.
