The remarkable Leicester City fairytale has come to an end with Claudio Ranieri’s men being crowned Premier League champions following the draw this morning between Spurs and Chelsea.
Nothing but a win would have kept the title race open for Tottenham, who squandered a two goal lead as Chelsea pulled level through Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard at the death.
The result means that Leicester City now sit seven points clear at the top of the table, head and shoulders above the competition with only two games remaining.
It has been a truly amazing turnaround, having only been promoted to the top flight in 2014 and barely surviving relegation last season under Nigel Pearson.
The Foxes will be hosting UEFA Champions League games next season at the King Power Stadium and are set to receive a substantial increase in funding.
While many predict that the likes of Mahrez and Kante could leave for greener pastures, it seems unlikely that the two former Ligue 2 players would opt to sign elsewhere having just won the title.
A more intriguing storyline however is which players could Ranieri bring into the squad?
As a former Chelsea manager, Ranieri has had experience contending with superstar players and the often tumultuous egos that come with them.
But for now, let’s just savour the moment and enjoy one of the best Premier League seasons in history.
